이름은 설명이 아니라 정의가 되고, 정의는 곧 제한이 됩니다. 처음에는 나를 드러내기 위해 꺼낸 단어였지만, 어느 순간부터는 나를 가두는 울타리가 됩니다. 단어라는 것이 그렇습니다. 어떤 단어도 동시에 무한한 해석을 품을 수는 없습니다. 하지만 우리는 긴 시간 동안, 존재를 입증하고 기억에 남기기 위해 스스로를 이름 붙여 왔습니다.
우리는 지금 어디에 서 있는 걸까요. 이름을 붙이지 않아도 되는 자리에, 저자를 남기지 않아도 되는 작업 앞에, 증명하지 않아도 살아 있는 존재로서. 설명되지 않고, 기억되지 않고, 정의되지 않은 채로, 그저 작동하고 스며드는 것. 어쩌면 그것으로 충분한 시대에 우리는 들어와 있을까요? 이제는 ‘나’라는 이름을 중심에 두기보다, 이름 없이 흘러가도 무너지지 않는 구조 안에 머물 수 있는지를 스스로 묻게 됩니다.

A name is not merely a description; it becomes a definition, and every definition, in turn, a limitation. What began as a word to reveal myself eventually became a fence that confines me. Such is the nature of language: no word can hold infinite interpretations at once. Yet throughout history, we have kept naming ourselves to prove our existence, to be remembered.
So, where do we stand now? Before a work that needs no name, no author, no proof of being—can we exist simply as living presences? Unexplained, unrecorded, undefined, yet still functioning, permeating, alive. Perhaps we’ve entered an age where that, in itself, is enough. Now, rather than centering everything around the name called “I,” I find myself wondering whether I can remain within a structure that keeps flowing, one that doesn’t collapse even without a name.
